Saarela public swimming beach

Near the village center, there is a beach with changing cabins and dry toilets. Signs from Ollintie. The beach has its own parking lot. Next to it, at the shore of Jokisuunniemi boat landing, there is a campfire spot. Saarelantie 86.

Hiekkahäikkä

A sandy beach and a lake.

Near Kipari,there is a swimming spot with a covered campfire area, changing cabins, and a dry toilet. Signpost from Kiparintie. There is no designated parking lot, but parking is possible along Hiekkahäikäntie, as long as traffic can pass. Kiparintie 815.

Iso-Valkeinen swimming spot

In Ala-Luosta, there is a clear-water swimming spot with a changing cabin, dry toilet, and a covered campfire area. Signposted from Lehtovaarantie, and parking is available.

Lapinjärvi swimming spot

The swimming spot has a relatively new changing cabin and a dry toilet. Signpost from Nurmeksentie. After turning onto the road leading to the beach, take the right-hand gravel road.

Lehtolampi swimming spot

At the swimming spot, there is a pier, changing cabins, and a dry toilet. Signpost from Vuorimäentie. This is a small, peaceful beach. Please note that parking space is limited. Vuorimäentie 56.

Rouskunhiekka swimming spot

A sandy beach and a lake.

In the Älänne area, there is a stunning sandy beach, near which begins the easy-access Kaivannonkierros nature trail, about 3 km long. Changing cabins, a dry toilet, and two campfire spots. Signpost from Varpaisjärventie. Joutenlahdentie 579.

Syvä-Kankainen swimming spot

A lake, a pier, and a forest behind the lake.

The beach has changing cabins, a dry toilet, and a covered campfire area. You can also swim from the pier. Parking is available, with signs from Kangaslahdentie. Syväkankaisentie 182.

Ylä-Luosta swimming spot

JA lake, a sandy beach, and trees.

Changing cabins and a dry toilet. Cars must be left at the Yläluostantie roadside area, with a sign leading to the beach. From one end of the roadside area, there is a path to the beach rest area, which has a campfire spot, tables, and benches.

Other swimming spots

In addition to the beaches and swimming areas maintained by the municipality, there are plenty of swimming opportunities along Rautavaara’s shores. Hikers can unexpectedly discover beautiful sandy beaches while exploring the area. Stunning sandy shores can be found, for example, at Tiilikkajärvi National Park from Venäjänhiekka and in the Metsäkartano area.
