The maintenance of official snowmobile routes is the responsibility of the Municipality of Rautavaara. The municipality is responsible for the safety of the route during the official snowmobile season. The season is opened and closed by the municipality depending on snow and maintenance conditions. Outside of this period, driving is at your own risk.

Guidelines for using the trails

• Instructions and traffic signs on snowmobile trails and routes must always be followed
• The snowmobile must be registered and insured
• Driving on trails requires at least a T-class driver’s license (minimum age 15)
