Boating in Rautavaara
Experience the beauty of Rautavaara’s waters in a truly unique way. The open lake expanses offer magnificent views in the areas of Tiilikkajärvi, Älänne and Keyritty. The waters are clear, partially wild and ideal for fishing. Boating here combines active enjoyment with peaceful nature.
Boat Launch Sites
There are boat launch sites maintained by the Municipality of Rautavaara in Keyritty Lake. These are located at:

Jokisuunniemi Boat Harbour, Jokisuunniementie 69

Hiekkahäikkä, Kiparintie 815, 73900 Rautavaara
Both sites are designed for boats brought by trailer. The Jokisuunniemi slipway is constructed of concrete to facilitate launching your boat into the water.
Free Rowing Boats for All

Rautavaara offers free rowing boats for both residents and visitors. These community-boats are located in two places:

Saarela Beach, Keyritty Lake

Rouskunhiekka, Älänne
They may be used for fishing, excursions or simply enjoying the view. Use is free and open to everyone.
Guidelines & Safety
To ensure that as many people as possible can enjoy boating, please observe the following:

Limit visits to approximately three hours per session.

Handle the boats with care, as they are procured with communal funds.

Return the boats to the designated location, and secure them with a rope to a post.

Always wear a life-jacket. Boating while under the influence of alcohol is not permitted.
